BD2K is a documentary about how big data is currently changing the way medicine is practiced and the relationship patients have with their Doctors.  It is told through two compelling stories of patients who share their experience gathering data during the treatment of their diseases. One is a mother who is diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer and mines her own data to find the right treatment to save her life, and the second is a man who has been diagnosed with HIV and participates in a study to mine his data which allows him to eventually live a healthy normal life .
